Last week, I shared a blog about my experience at The Royal Sonesta (Capitol Hill Location) and how I had a amazing time. I went into great detail about the perks of the hotel and I even shared some things you can do for free while you’re there. But, I want to be transparent with you and remind those that read last week’s post that I tagged along with my mother and her organization, DPC (Dialysis Patients Citizens) to DC. So, I did not plan this trip on my own, I just packed a bag, purchased my bus ticket and met my mom at the hotel.
However, that does not mean I haven’t solo traveled before. When I travel, I like to plan ahead with a budget sheet so that I can stay organized within my means. I believe that you can explore comfortably without feeling restricted financially. Therefore, if you have an upcoming trip and are interested in budgeting but aren’t sure if it would be necessary, here are some benefits for you to consider.
The benefits of Budgeting & Planning Trips:
- Limits Stress | Budgeting can reduce stress by keeping your mind and finances structured.
- Discipline | Helps reduce the urge to overspend so you can comfortably cover food and activities.
- Simplicity | Keeps you organized and prepared for all case scenarios (emergencies).
- Habits | Even though you’ll be relaxing you’ll also be developing good financial habits at the same time.
Now that you have an idea on the benefits of budgeting, check out this example I like follow:
