One thing I’ve learned this year is that less is more. It’s been my motto so far because in the past, I would think that the more I did, the more I would achieve. But most of the time, it had led to burnout and few results. But this year has been different.
About three years ago, I remember hanging out with a friend of mine. I complimented her sense of style, which had evolved. She shared that wearing just black and white tops with a nice bottom or jeans was the way to go. And she was right, I was able to see all of her, her natural beauty, because it was not concealed by clothing that overshadowed her.
So, I tried it out. I paired my simple tops with pants that have embellishments on them or shoes with sparkles. As I mentioned in this blog, about my ripped-pearl jeans and sparkly heels, and black corset top.
But in this blog, I am sharing a simple look you can wear, but that still stands out. In this photo, I am wearing a sleek black dress, clear heels, and black oval glasses. I also changed my hair by wearing a wig, because why not? And if you can’t tell from my pose, I was feeling myself.
What I loved about this outfit is its simplicity. I love not thinking too much about my outfits. So it was easy to pair this together. I would wear this look at brunch, a house party, the park, or while grocery shopping. So, if you’re ready to add this look to your closet, here is my list. Dress
So, let’s start with the dress. The dress I got from GlaBelle is discontinued; however, I found some replicas on Amazon.
Shoes
What I liked about these shoes is that you can wear them anywhere. It can make any outfit look good.
Glasses
These Matrix-style glasses are simple but fire. They touched up my outfit. If I did not feel like wearing jewelry, this was enough to put on, so my dress did not look too bland.
Wig
If you feel like changing it up or want to avoid cutting your hair, play around with a wig. When I wore mine, it brought out my alter ego.
