I’m going out of town for a while to explore more, to complete everything that I started, and to attract opportunities. The great thing about this is that opportunities have been revealing themselves to me before I even left. However, that’s not what this blog is about. Today’s blog is about having child-like faith and why it’s powerful.
Last week, I was stressed about how I was going to afford my plane ticket. The prices kept going up the longer I waited, and my pockets were crying. After asking ChatGPT to find any promo codes and discounts, I was disappointed that there weren’t any available. Or so I thought.
That morning, after giving up on searching for cheap tickets, I went to the bathroom to clean my mind. While sitting on the toilet, I remember having a conversation with Bouj the night before about child-like faith. We were talking about how powerful and beautiful children’s faith is. Kids believe in themselves and trust that they can get anything they want. Bouj shared that from working in a barber shop for over 13 years, he witnessed moments when a kid in his seat got exactly what they wanted. One kid in particular came from a family that didn’t have much, but he still asked for extravagant gifts, like going to Disneyland. Long story short, he got to go. You’re probably thinking, well, maybe his partners saved up, but that’s not the case. Coincidentally, later that month, upon his request, his mother’s job had free passes to Disneyland. Therefore, after hearing that story from Bouj, I decided to stop mooping around and give it a try.
That morning, after searching for a cheap ticket, I was met with expensive ones. I took a deep breath and said to myself, “have child-like faith”. And then something strange happened.
Within the next minute, I opened my phone and felt the urge to scan for a “voucher” in my email search bar. And lo and behold, I had a $300 ticket voucher from one of my favorite airlines. What was strange about this is that I didn’t even know that I had it, nor remembered if I did.
So, I booked my flight and packed my bags, excited for what else is to come. I know that this flight is taking me to a destination that shapes me into the woman I dreamt of being. A reality that has so many blessings and miracles for me. A journey where I get everything that I want and more. Along with experiences that have many great opportunities, which I happily accept.
Miracles are real, my friend, don’t let the world tell you otherwise. Sometimes you don’t need to understand or know how or when, just have faith the size of a mustard seed. I know that can be scary, though, the idea of not obtaining the things we want can be nerve-wrecking, but let me ask you this. What good does that do? When doubt creeps in, ask yourself, “What if what I want does happen?” and if it doesn’t, that does not mean it’s the end; it’s just a blessing in disguise. So, be patient and be open to the unique forms your wishes come in. Just having child-like faith is all you need in this world. So see where that takes you.
