I don’t know about you, but I like change. I enjoy changing my routine, like working from a different place daily like at cafes.
If you are a coffee enthusiast or just love cafes as much as I do, then I have the perfect palace for and it’s in New York. Or should I say, they’re in New York because they have multiple locations. Ground Central Coffee Company, will be your next favorite place to work from. They have a generous selection of beverages you can choose from, pastries, sandwiches, snacks, free wifi, easily accessible power outlets, productive work areas, and comfy seats.
When you’re at this cafe you’ll see people working, relaxing, or meeting up. One time I came across a youth Bible Study group there. The community ranges from students, entrepreneurs, families, and elderly people looking for a moment to relax in company.
The ambiance is warm, inviting, and modern. You’ll see vintage decor, wooden furniture, and warm lighting rather than your traditional cold corporate lighting. The staff are friendly people as well, they are great at recognizing faces and memorizing your drinks. Also, the music selection is awesome; be prepared to hear genres like Rock and Pop depending on who’s working that shift. If you need a break from work, they have fun games and books you can read.
Other than working at the cafe, you can invite your friends and family to experience a live performance with local artists and performers. The Lynbrook location often hosts events, live music, and open mic nights. It’s an awesome way for people to connect and witness talent in the community.

If you don’t know what to buy when you get there, here are my recommendations:
Chocolate Chip Nutella Banana bread | This God-made pastry is rich, moist, and limited if you don’t get it at a certain time (the earlier the better because it’ll be gone by 11 am).
Cinnamon Chia latte with almond milk | My mom gets this every time we go
Chocolate Chip Cookie | It’s huge and tasty
Egg Frittata | It’s great when they add smashed avocado spread to it *upon request*
Almond Croissant | Soft, Sweet, and just right
Tip: Ask them to warm up your pastries
As you can see, I just eat a whole bunch of sugar when I’m there. By the way, you’ll spend between 5 – 20 dollars but it’s worth it.
So, are you ready to visit Ground Central Coffee Company? – If you’re in Long Island, NY, check out the Lybrook location, it’s big, spacious, and communal. Their hours are 7 days a week from 7:30 am – 7 pm. And there is ample parking too.
If you’re in the city, there are eight other locations in Manhattan like Lexington Ave, 2nd Ave, and more.
FYI, not every location has the same menu options but if you need a change of scenery with a good pastry to snack on, then Ground Central Coffee Company is the place for you.
