Hi everyone! I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving this year and tried out that sweet potato casserole recipe I shared. It’s the first week of December!! Oh, my goddess, the year is coming to a speedy end. I don’t know about you but I feel like time is flying.
I was sick this weekend. My throat felt awful and painful. I thought I was going to be suffering forever but that didn’t last long after I prayed to God and drank some powerful tea my uncle made for me.
I am not a pastor and I don’t know the Bible from the back of my hand, but my faith is growing each day. While I was sick, I cried out to God for help and guidance on how to ease the discomfort I was feeling, and let me tell you, God came through with quickness. And I want to share my prayer with you.
If you ever find yourself feeling unwell or know someone who isn’t at their best, read this alone/with them as many times as you want, take your guided medicine, and leave the rest to God.
Dear God,
Thank you in advance for your healing. May you forgive me for any moments I took my temple for granted while feeling well. It is tough feeling unwell but even through the uncomfortable moments, I trust that you’re working your magic. I need your strength to persevere in this challenge I am undergoing.
May I use the knowledge you blessed me with to discern what I should put into my body and what doesn’t belong. May I be blessed with patience and use rest as a way for my body to recover. May I be surrounded by people in your image to bring positive energy into my space and uplift my spirits.
Please, lay your hands over the areas of my body that need your touch and place comfort over the areas that need your love. Whispers notes of serenity into my heart so that my mind can be at ease. I know that with faith the size of a mustard seed, I will prevail.
It is a beautiful blessing to make fluid movements with my body, to breathe, to see, the hear, to smell, to taste, and to live the way you see best fit for me. With that knowledge, I trust that there will come a time when I feel better.
When others are sick, may I be reminded of what it felt like to be limited. May you remind me of the importance of having empathy and practicing generosity; giving a helping hand.
You have your reasons, your timing is special and you give me everything I need to feel your nurture. So, all I ask is that your healing and loving nature ignites my soul, fires up my spirit, and warms my body.
In your loving name,
Amen
